Current status- This loco is currently outside the roundhouse sat on sleepers though we plan to move it into the shed for the railpower event at Barrow Hill in august on accommodation bogies. This loco was mostly restored about 15 years ago at the now defunct Chatterley Whitfield mining museum in Staffordshire but the overhaul had to stop when it was discovered that the crank axle on this loco had up to 8 hairline cracks on it rendering it unusable, at about the same time Chatterley Whitfield closed down meaning the engine had to move to a new base and so the restoration came to an unfortunate end despite the hard efforts of Mark Tweedy and his restoration group.
This loco is usually covered up with a large tarpaulin though can be inspected on request and is usually uncovered for display at Barrow Hill’s galas. Its damaged axle is placed in front of it for display also.
